I will be camping overnight in Ubin this Sunday. Maybe I'll be extremely lucky this time. But recently there cases of poaching using wire traps which I am extremely concerned about.

Wow, so the leopard cats are around ! That is indeed heartening news. I have actually been to the fragile forest just last month and took my time admiring the mouse deers alright. I think its one of the zoo's best exhibits.

I'll drop by your blog again, thanks again for the wonderful posts and keep them coming ! :]

Mr. Lim, the Ubin villager who lives at Orchid Farm (Marman beach) have sighted leopard cats before. I am told mousedeers are notoriously shy and near impossible to take pictures of.

Sometimes I would go to Mandai zoo and visit the "Fragile Forest" at dusk where the mousedeers become active. You can see them real close which is quite a sight.

Thanks for such a wonderful blog with great information on Ubin. Would love to see more pictures of the animals found on the island - particularly mouse deers, and I was just wondering if anyone has seen the Leopard Cat on Ubin in recent years ?
